Potassium Silicate (Liquid potassium silicate, Potassium Silicate) is manufactured by melting SiO©Łand KCO©ż (potassium carbonate) at high temperature and it's distributed as an aqueous solution. Its general chemical formula is KO§żnSiO§żmOand n is mole ratio. ļŮMeta Potassium Silicate (n=1) includes anhydride 0.5 or hydrated salt, but Potassium Silicate solution (n=2~3.8) is now being produced for industrial use and a product called Potassium Silicate is also liquid product.
The composition of Sodium Silicate-Sodium Silicate (Liquid Sodium Silicate, Sodium Silicate) is manufactured by melting SiO©Łand KCO©ż (potassium carbonate) at high temperature and it's distributed as an aqueous solution. It's soluble in water so it's also called Water Glass.
The application criteria of Potassium Silicate are also based on mole ratio (Molecular ratio) and it can be easily calculated from the weight percentage of SiO©Łand KO as shown below.
   

The properties of Potassium Silicate solution are very close to those of Sodium Silicate physically and chemically as we can see from its molecular formula.

It can be used when we want to know Be' of a solution assuming SiO  or KO is already known and when we want to know Sio©Łand KO assuming mole ratio and Be' are known. The viscosity of Sodium Silicate solution depends on mole ratio and it changes according to concentration and temperature even for the same mole ratio.
